APG have been engaged by Anglicare to oversee the delivery of their first Vertical Village in Merrylands, Sydney. APG will provide Project Management services for the project from conceptual design through to completion. The new facility highlights industry commentator’s prediction of a boom in vertical “apartment-style” aged care villages that will integrate with allied care. In addition, the Property Council of Australia has also reported that by 2025, the demand for retirement living for people over 65 is expected to double.

The Anglicare Vertical Village will include a high-rise mixed-use building with retail tenancies, lift lobbies, a loading area, village reception, community facilities & other commercial spaces. The accommodation will include Residential Care-Dementia Rooms and Home Rooms (each with ensuite) and Residential Living Units with common lounge area on each level. The new facility reflects an increasing blurring of the line between aged care and retirement living that will allow residents to lengthen their stay.
